Q: Unable to connect to iCloud mail
I just updated from Yosemite to El Capitan yesterday. Since then, Apple Mail cannot connect to the IMAP server for my iCloud account. It shows the account error status:
Connections to host p05-imap.mail.me.com on the default ports failed.
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), 2014 Retina 5K, Core i7

Please sign out of iCloud in its preference pane and sign back in. No data will be removed from the servers. That said, you should always have a current archive of the data for safety's sake, even if you don't sign out.
If you use iCloud Keychain, when you sign back in to iCloud follow one of the procedures described in this support article to set it up on an additional device.
