Q: Since El Capitan WiFi goes On and Off, Then Off until restart!

I have had this issue for awhile now! My wifi will turn off then on and again until it goes off and i can't turn it back on unless i restart my macbook pro. And even after i do so the time my wifi works for is not predictable. Sometimes 5 minutes, others a day. I have tried every trick i could google. First i ran full diagnostics with ethernet cable plugged in to make sure no hardware issues. Came up clean. Then i tried to clear NVRAM and SMC.....no help. Afterwards i saw some people had wifi issues resolved in Yosemite by deleting the content of /library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder and restarting so macbook can reconfigure itself...not really sure. No help yet again. I was told to back up my macbook and clean wipe with a new OS X instal but that will cost me money for an external hard drive and lots of time reinstalling cad software, parallels, windows....etc. Someone please help me! Last i heard to start the macbook in safe mode and run another type of diagnostics but i haven't done it since the instructions weren't clear and i need my macbook for school. (This is honestly a very annoying issue because it is caused by Apple software. I was told i would have to pay to get it fixed at the apple store and it's Apple's fault my macbook is not working. This has set me back in school work and personal business. I honestly wish  i had enough money to file a lawsuit.)  Any help would be nice!

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

    Hello,

We've seen issues like this being caused by Internet Security applications combined with El Capitan. The solution would be to update your security software such as Norton, Avast, AVG, etc. If you have any of these apps and updating them doesn't solve it, please contact the developers of these apps and ask how to remove these apps. If you don't have any security apps, please let us know.

I do not have any security apps. Never needed them in 4 years of use.

I don't have the time right now to give the long answer but some quick solutions that might apply are:

    - do you use a protective cover for your MBP? If so, test without it

    - look for sources of interference. It might be a coincidence that the issue started at the same time as installing El Capitan: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference - Apple Support

    - does this issue occur on other wi-fi-networks? If you haven't tested, then please do.

    - does it make a difference whether you are really close to your wi-fi-router or not?

Everyone looking for a solution to this annoying problem, I have an update! I have been speaking to multiple senior advisers at Apple and also took my mac book into an Apple store for a series of tests. It is now finally proven that my computer has NO hardware issues and the problem is caused solely by El Capitan Software. I have tried everything you can to resolve this issue from simple NVRam reset to a clean install of El Capitan and nothing will fix this issue. I have also collected multiple files of data which i have sent over to Apple engineering and yet no light at the end of this tunnel. Apple says i can only revert back to Yosemite to fix the issue but that causes me to lose all of the files i opened in El Capitan since they can not be converted back (And it is more of an escape route rather than a fix)!!! The other "solution" they gave me was to keep using my computer until a new update came out with a fix which could take months. I am at a dead end and so is everyone else with this issue! If anyone knows more which i doubt please comment!

If you want to go back to Yosimite just take your mac to an apple store and they will do it for free. Make sure you bring an external hard drive to back up your data. Remember any files you opened in El Capitan will not work once you go back!

After I made the last post on here i went to go pick up my mac book and while talking to one of the employees from their tech team he recommended we run another short hardware test while my computer was booted in a Yosemite client profile which they have at apple. The problem persisted and after running a short test my airport card hardware failed. Keep in mind that this computer ran through an extensive hardware test and passed the day before! I was furious of course because i was just told there were no hardware issues. We proceeded with a repair of the airport connector and then the airport card itself! My wifi now works with El Capitan! I am glad the issue is fixed but i will be back to post again in a week since i've only had my computer back for a couple of hours now. Need to run the wifi for some time to guarantee it wont go bad again, which would mean it is really a software issue!

Ok ladies and gentleman, it has now been over a week and it is proven that replacing the airport connector and hardware resolved my problem! No problems since the repair!

    Ok, good for you!

Maybe I should let check my macbook at the Apple store.

Still Going Strong?  I've been to the Apple store and there seems no problems at all.. Guess, once at home...
