Sep 18, 2015 2:26 PM in response to Iwd1959by jmkeuning,I'm holding on to hope. That I will figure it out.
It feels like back in the day when I didn't really know how to use Word or Excel and I would just click every menu option until I found what I was looking for. I am just jabbing and sliding and pinching hoping that this thing will give me what I want.

Sep 19, 2015 2:49 AM in response to Iwd1959by RedGT,They should have just left it alone sort of, but I would have liked a custom skip forward/back option an EQ and a night time mode.

Sep 24, 2015 7:40 AM in response to Iwd1959by dev47,The update is a piece of crap. Didn't see this post until it was too late. Going to use overcast from now on.

Sep 24, 2015 5:55 PM in response to Iwd1959by judy Ross,I agree. It's really not intuitive. I don't know what problems they were trying to fix. Wish I could go back.

Sep 25, 2015 3:18 PM in response to Iwd1959by dcbsky234,★HelpfulIt's a BAD update. The list view of all my subscribed podcasts is gone and now replaced with an unwanted "updated today" calendar list.
I want to be able to see the list of my podcasts, select an individual show, see the list of all the podcasts under that show, and select what I want to hear
no matter what the date.

Sep 30, 2015 1:54 PM in response to Iwd1959by Chinahoho,SUPER DUMB!!
I used "On The Go" playlist to mark all of my downloaded Podcasts. Now I have to scan all of my subscribed channels and look for the downloaded icon for each episode to delete them. I don't remember all of the episodes I downloaded, and any missed episodes will live on my phone forever until I hunt them down individually in the sea of podcasts from my subscribed list... DUMB!!!! Thanks for the update, and I can even delete the app either. Fantastic!!!

Sep 30, 2015 4:41 PM in response to Chinahohoby Lost in Asia,A couple of options for finding unplayed, and getting rid of played:
- For getting rid of played episodes: Go to the iPhone's Settings, scroll down to Podcasts, and toggle "Delete Played Episodes" to on. Any played episodes should be erased after 24 hours. (I assume they're not deleted if you try to save the episode, but if you want to keep a podcast, I strongly recommend saving it to your computer and changing the media kind to Audiobook.)
- For finding unplayed episodes: in the "My Podcast" tab, press "+" in the upper left corner to make a station, and set the station up to include everything you've got, with "Unplayed Only" toggled to on. Also make sure you include all podcasts, and "Include / Episodes / All Episodes."
Those should take care of your two main complaints - now the phone will delete all played episodes, and any unplayed ones should appear in the a single station.

Oct 2, 2015 4:58 AM in response to Iwd1959by outofavoid,The big icons were easy to click without wearing my glasses at night. Now, hitting play is an ordeal. Skipping ahead or using the slider to rewind -- how do we even do that now? I despise this update.

Oct 2, 2015 12:22 PM in response to jmkeuningby mishka_53,It's not you. They took a perfectly serviceable app and trashed it. And the recent patch may have fixed bugs but only a complete rollback will fix the interface!

Oct 2, 2015 3:21 PM in response to outofavoidby dcbsky234,I TOTALLY agree! Where's the patch for this mess??

Oct 2, 2015 6:58 PM in response to mishka_53by Golden Delicious01,I totally agree. Please Tim Cook roll this horrible app back - you don't even have to apologize for this unintuitive mess with all this useless swiping & layering just to play an episode. Please give us On-the-Go back; I can no longer listen to a few episodes together in a "playlist" like I used to. I can't imagine if the designer/developer of this horrible version even subscribes or listens to a Podcasts!
As I stated in other threads, if you are frustrated with what Apple has done with the Podcast App in iOS 9, especially with the removal of "On-the-Go"" for example, as everyone else is on this community forum, then please write a response to Apple. You can do this as follows:
- Select "Support" on Apple's main webpage. Then scroll down to "More Products"
- Select "iOS Apps" and select "Podcasts".
- Select "Podcasts app for iOS: Organizing your podcasts with stations"
- Scroll down / read the instructions titled "Use On-The-Go" which were obviously written for iOS 8 (and hasn't even been updated)
- Now scroll down to "Helpful - Yes//No" at the bottom of page.
- Select "NO" and send a reply where it says, "Thanks - please tell us how to help you better"
- Let them know (politely) how this support page no longer applies and how you feel about the Podcast app update in iOS 9.
Maybe if enough of us write a reply, Apple might hear us so they will update the App or roll it back. As for now, I'm going to start using Overcast.

Oct 6, 2015 8:12 PM in response to dcbsky234by DeanOhSaur,I Totally agree. It was so easy to see how many unplayed episodes were queued by podcast icon. So much more user friendly than this current crap.
In the Corporate world they'd be backing this change out.

Nov 21, 2015 7:57 PM in response to Iwd1959by TheCruthin,They have done nothing but make it worse. Like all they have done is take away the playlist. Now I have no control contenstly playing unplayed episodes is killing my data, this is making me mad everyday...like I'll need to go back to Samsung it's that bad my phone is a podcast player it's not even a phone
