Create a group in the contacts app and then address your email to that group name.

    Hi Paul

Thank you very much for your rapid response. You will need to excuse my ignorance as this laptop is new to me - my previous Mac Book Pro was 8 years old and obviously quite different. I have looked at contact apps and there is a choice of 99 - any idea of which one I need?

    Regards

Not a problem. It took me a little bit to figure out how to create groups too. First under the view menu show groups. If you haven't created any groups you should see just an all group. From the file menu there should be a menu item "New Group" select it and it will create a new group for you. Then you drag a contact to the new group the you created.  Does this help?

No problem, I made some assumptions. Look for the contacts app.FinderScreenSnapz001.png Launch the application.  My previous instructions were from while in that application.

    Hi Paul

I'm really grateful for all your help, unfortunately I seem to have reached a dead end.  There are 170 contact apps available, but not one resembles yours and none are simply entitled Contacts. My wife is going shopping to Southampton on Tuesday where there is an Apple Store, so hopefully one of their bright young things will be able to help us.

    Regards and thank you again

Ok, what version of the Mac Operating system do you have? The current system El Capitan the app is called contacts. Do you have address book or something similar? The contacts application comes with the operating system. So whatever application you have it should be part of what came with your mac. We will figure it out.

No problem. I'm glad you could figure it out. I've been doing support for years and it is often a challenge to get the person on the other side of the discussion on the same page as I am. I'm glad we got this figured out.
