Q: Air drop iOS 9.1 to MBP El Capitan

Hi

My iPhone 6 on the latest IOS update can't find my Mac book pro, also on the latest update for air drop

I think I've literally tried everything possible but nothing seems to work Firewall is turned off on the MBP, bluetooth and wifi is on for both devices, both are connected to iCloud, blocking all incoming connections is unticked, allow me to be discovered by everyone is also on for both devices.

My MBP is able to airdrop to my iPhone but not the other way around. Also my MBP is a mid 2012 model so should be working

Please help I really need to get this annoying issue resolved!

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Im basically having the same issue. I have a Late 2013 MBP Retina 15", and an iPhone 6, always current with updates. My Airdrop seems to work from iPhone to MBP, but usually does not work from MBP to iPhone. It actually worked both ways today, sort of... I use AirDrop quite often for transferring images back and forth for projects, so this is quite annoying.

When I open up Finder and AirDrop on my MBP the icon that pops up for my iPhone just flashes on/off constantly. Normally when I send images from my iPhone to my MBP it will accept them, but vice versa will SAY they were accepted, but when I go to verify they will not be there...

In and older thread (October) someone suggested:

    1. Turn off Bluetooth on your Mac
    2. Delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
    3. Turn Bluetooth back on

But I'm a little hesitant to just start deleting things without knowing exactly what they do. A handful of people say it resolved their problem.
