Stellar Mac Data Recovery and TestDisk are my 2 favorite for undeleted files from HD. Through, Stellar Data Recovery is not free, but you download a free trial to check whether the folder and other files can be recreated before deciding to pay for the software.
Very similar to Windows, Mac OS X doesn’t wipe out the files, but instead of it can mark the directory entries as free. You should get those files back as long as they are not overwritten. Also, it depends on the chance that your Mac didn’t overwrite those files as part of the shutdown process.
