Q: mail was forced quit and is now replaced with contact book. cannot find mail

had to force quit mail on iMac.. now mail does not show but contact book does. cannot find mail

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

    Hello bernardfromky,

     

    After reviewing your post, It sounds like you had Mail but somehow it is now missing. Is Mail still in the Finder Application folder? Do you have a Time Machine backup of the computer? If it is not on the Mac you may want to reinstall only OS X. I would recommend you read these articles, they may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

    If you use Time Machine to back up your Mac, you can recover your system
