Q: 'A problem repeatedly occurred with [website]' followed by a crash report
This has happened regularly since upgrading to El Capitan.
Specific – but seemingly random – pages won't load (such as this Wikipedia article and this AMA from Reddit) I get a grey screen that explains a problem repeatedly occurred with [web address] with a Reload Webpage button. A Problem Report window also appears, explaining com.apple.WebKit.WebContent quit unexpectedly. Clicking the Reload Webpage button only brings up the grey screen and crash report again.
So far I've tried the following:
• restarted the machine
• made sure OS X is up to date (10.11.1) as well as Flash
• disabled Safari extensions
• starting up Safari while holding down Shift
• removed plug-ins and other add-ons from my Library folders (as per this help article)
• disabled plug-ins, JavaScript and WebGL from the Safari preferences
I don't have any problem loading those pages when logged in as a guest user or in Safe Mode, so I assume the problem is specific to my user account.
Am completely stumped as to how to fix this. Any help would be much appreciated.
