Q: I can't back up my i5s even though I have enuff memory. Help!!!  

My wife's iPhone 5 is doing this as well. Are you trying to back up the iCloud?

ive spent the past 5 days on with apple over her phone, and they have almost conceded to it being a problem with iCloud itself and it needing a patch...

Just a thought, check the manage usage part on your settings and see if any of your apps appear wrong (like the app itself has been half deleted), as thats what is wrong with hers. The app won't delete...

Back up ... to where?

• To iTunes?  Are you using the current iTunes version (12.3.1)?  Are you trying to back up over WiFi or is the iPhone plugged in to the computer?
• To iCloud?  Are you on WiFi?  Is your iPhone plugged in to an electric outlet?

you only get 5gb free icloud storage that is not enough to backup to unless one only use 5gb of storage of the phone...
