Q: please help.

Hi all,
I have a iMac 27-inch
OS X El Capitan version 10.11.1
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB

(This issue I am having occurred before the El Capitan version)

I was using iPhoto before photos came out and loved it....
I uploaded my photos from photo stream and made albums, and I started to make a photo book.
For some reason A LOT of my photos from photo stream, and only some that were taken on a camera and not my phone got messed up.
Don't know when it happened or why it happened, but the orientation is flipped or rotated sideways.
I can obviously go into the edit function to fix it, but its only temporary!
The book and the photos once I close the program or even if i leave it open and go back to later the photos have flipped back!
Its weird because sometimes it looks sideways in the thumbnail but when you open it big its not.

We are afraid we are spending so much time making a book of memories and when we try to get it printed the photos will be sideways!they will

How can I confirm that they won't have flipped back?
Better question, how can I get them to all be the way they were when I imported them originally!  Now that they are all sideways
Its very disappointing!!

Thanks

Repair your Photos Library. That should fix the thumbnails, so they correspond to the photos, see this article:  Fix missing or incorrect thumbnails in Photos - Apple Support

After repairing the library check the photos you are using in your book and rotate them if still necessary.

So I tried this and it looks like it might've worked on some photos.... (I have a lot!!!!!)
But one photo album almost all of them are still sideways, so I don't know if I rotate them myself if it will stay or not.

    Since it didn't repair them.

    OK Sooo... I lied!
It didn't help.  Actually when I check the photos in the photo book i'm making the photos, immediately flip sideways again.  I don't even have to close the program!!  Its very frustrating!

Try, if the photos will be correct, if you start over with a new book.

It is hard to get to the bottom of the problem, unless you narrow down the problem by a few systematic tests.  we need to know, if your particular photos are causing this, if the book you started is causing this, if it is your current Photos library, or if syncing with iCloud is, interfering, if preferences settings or caches in your current user account ar wrong, or the problem is system wide and happens in all user account.

Are you using iCloud Photo Library?
