Q: Can I pay unpaid balances with Itunes credit?

So I recently went on a bit of a spending spree after adding a $100 prepaid visa to my itunes account.

I went a bit overboard and when i tried buying a $5.99 virtual item it told me that I paid for it, but i didnt recieve it so I tried doing it again thinking it was a glitch.

Then i checked the visa online and it was empty and after checking my itunes account I have 11.98 in unpaid balances.

I dont have any cards with money, the only thing i can do is buy itunes cards right now from sites like g2a.

I want to know if I can use these cards to pay off that debt and will I receive what  I paid for?

    Good Afternoon RyanKG,

The resources below will explain how to purchase and redeem iTunes Store Gift cards, and how they are applied to account.  Once you have done this, you can review your purchase history and contact the iTunes Store if there are any issues with the items you purchased.

    About cards and codes

    iTunes Store Gift Cards:

    • When you redeem an iTunes Store Gift Card, the amount of credit on the card is added to your iTunes Store account. You can use it at any time to buy items in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store, pay for in-app subscriptions, or make in-app purchases.
    • If you received an iTunes Store Gift Card through email, click Redeem Now in the email to redeem the credit.
    • After you redeem a Gift Card, your iTunes account balance automatically updates. You might need to sign out and back in to all of your devices for your credit balance to appear. You can find your balance underneath your Apple ID.

    Content and promo codes:

    • You can redeem content and promo codes for specific items in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    • All content or promo codes can be redeemed in iTunes for Mac or Windows except codes that are specifically for the Mac App Store. Redeem Mac App Store content or promo codes in the Mac App Store. You can also redeem iBooks codes in iBooks for Mac.

    About credit balances

After you redeem iTunes Gift Cards or iTunes Gifts, your updated balance appears in your iTunes Store account. Each time you purchase content, iTunes deducts funds from the credit until it's depleted.

The entire amount of a gift is credited to your iTunes Store account when you redeem it, so you don't need to enter your gift card number or gift code each time you want to buy something.

You can check your balance on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or on your computer through iTunes, the Mac App Store, or the iBooks Store.

View your balance in on your computer

    In iTunes

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Click iTunes Store.
If you're not already signed in, click Sign In and enter your Apple ID and password.
    3. Click your name.
    4. If you have a credit balance, you'll see it under your Apple ID in the pop-up menu.

    In the Mac App Store

    1. Open the Mac App Store.
If you're not already signed in, click Account under Quick Links and enter your Apple ID and password. Then click Featured at the top of the app.
    2. If you have a credit balance, you'll see it next to Account under Quick Links.

    In iBooks for Mac

    1. Open iBooks.
    2. Click iBooks Store.
If you're not already signed in, click Sign In above Quick Links and enter your Apple ID and password.
    3. If you have a credit balance, you'll see it next to your Apple ID above Quick Links.
