Q: Creating a bootable usb stick
Hello,
I've followed the directions in the article here
Create a bootable installer for OS X
This creates an install OS X icon on the flash drive but that drive isn't bootable. When I start the machine holding down the C key it never uses the USB drive and if I go into the system preferences and go to Startup Disk the USB drive with the Install OS X icon isn't an option to select. Shouldn't there be an OS on the drive for it to be bootable?
macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Mac OS X
It is not the C key, it is the option key.
