Q: Auto-capitalize for Macbook Pro 2015

iMessage on my new Macbook will not auto-capitalize at the beginning of sentences like my Macbook Pro 2009 did.  It does it on my IPhone, iPad, and on my MacBook Pro.  How do I make it do that on the Macbook? It also is not working in other application like this one here. However on all other Mac Devise that I have it  auto-corrects that capitalization for me. I know it sounds trite, but it is a feature that I really enjoyed.

    Hi,

When typing in Messages on a full keyboard I have always used the Shift key.

I checked Spelling and Grammar  in the App to see if there was a setting and also System Preference Keyboard and Accessibility to see if there was a global setting but could find nothing.
