Nov 17, 2015 10:34 AM in response to drjwrby PeachDave,My calendar works fine. My contacts sync erratically, but usually not at all.
I am set up only to sync google.
I've tried ALL the reset and restore possibilities. I thought it might somehow be a hardware issue but tried with my wife's phone and she is having the same problem.
So frustrated and no idea what to do. My only conclusion is that it's a conflict with some other software and is really hard to ID.

Nov 17, 2015 10:45 AM in response to PeachDaveby mcdougalxiv,Hi Peach Dave (and all other iOS sufferers). Does it seem odd to you that a technology fundamental to Apple's pie-in-the-sky Any Info on Any Device strategy should not only fail, but remain uncorrected for this amount of time? Personally, I think Congress, the FTC, and the SEC should take action on bug-ridden releases.

Nov 17, 2015 10:52 AM in response to mcdougalxivby PeachDave,I think you're joking, but I can't tell... It sure is frustrating. I'm looking into 3rd party sync apps to go around apple.

Nov 17, 2015 10:57 AM in response to PeachDaveby mcdougalxiv,I am not joking. If companies will not protect their users and subscribers from technical flaws loaded with actual and opportunity costs, who will? Apple has proven beyond doubt that they will release unreliable products, so what are our options:
1. Sit here and take it like sheep: Not for me.
2. Use non-Apple technology: unattractive given the bug density typical of all tech companies;
3. Ask the public sector to do it's effing job, which includes protecting consumers from incompetent or unscrupulous suppliers.

Nov 17, 2015 11:04 AM in response to mcdougalxivby PeachDave,You're talking to the wrong guy. The government is the last one I want involved in my stuff. Keep the government focused on Infrastructure and defense. If I get frustrated with Apple, I'll just move my business to Google or Droid. I'd rather keep this string focused on an immediate solution rather than a political debate.
I'm going to try a 3rd party app to sync contacts next.

Dec 2, 2015 4:31 AM in response to littlelune2003by wwbusch,Hi Guys,
my IOS 9.2 Public Beta 4 Device is not syncing contacts with google apps exchange settings. Email and Calendar is syncing, but contacts just download 50 or 100 contacts and than stop (from my 1500 contacts).
Very frustrating.
I tried all hints and tips in this threat but nothing helped.
--> Is it a bug / problem in IOS 9 or a google m.google.com exchange sync protocol problem and google need to fix it?
Nevertheless google apps is for us more importand than usage of IOS device.
So what to do?
Thanks for help/ideas

Dec 3, 2015 10:49 AM in response to Cmw1229by comaz,I had the same issue with the calendar not syncing...drove me crazy, but here is what I did to get it to sync:
First I went to my iphone 6 and opened up the calendar app. At the same time, I had my Mac Pro
opened with the calendar opened.
Then on the iphone I added an event and it appeared on my Mac, and everything that had not been
in sync suddenly appeared on my iphone calendar. It seems I have to do this procedure every time I reopen the calendar after closing it down , but at least I get the sync function to work.

Dec 4, 2015 1:30 AM in response to comazby wwbusch,i can confirm that that works :-(
Just add a stupied dummy contact on exchange (outloook / web frontend etc) and add an additional contact in phone. than it starts syncing in both directions. than you can delete again both contacts.
Workaround but i dont understand why apple deleted the possibility to sync manualy :-(
P.S. i tested the my google apps account with an MS phone and that worked perfect --> Problem on IOS side...
Wolf.

Dec 21, 2015 4:47 AM in response to S_M_Cby SohaibA,I just got a new iphone 6s after years on a trusty Android phone, and am facing the exact same problem regarding Google contacts sync. My hundreds and thousands of contacts on Google are not syncing to the new iphone. Calendar, photos and messages have all synced fine, but contacts, which is the most important item, has not synced at all. I have tried every solution to this problem that has been suggested in this thread. In addition, I have spent 3-4 hours on the phone with Apple tech support who have also basically given the same solutions, but to no avail.
I must say I am terribly disappointed in this much vaunted Apple. I was really looking forward to my first Apple product, a brand new cutting edge iphone, but it is unable to perform the most basic feature, i.e. seamless syncing of contacts with Google. Even the cheapest available Android phone in the market is able to perform this basic feature which my new iPhone can't. As a long-standing Android user, I am most disappointed in this failure by Apple.
Google's contact feature is world class and I want to continue using it on my iPhone. I don't want to make Outlook or iCloud as my default contact storage. Sadly, this poor functionality of iPhone is not letting me do this.
I feel like I just should gift this phone to my old mother, because without dynamic syncing of contacts this iPhone is only good for playing video games and taking photos.
Regards,
a very disappointed first time Apple user
