Q: Upgraded to Yosemite and now my Bootcamp Partition is not being recognized

A couple weeks ago I re-partitioned my mac and bootcamp partitions adding room from my mac side to my windows side and then today I upgraded to Yosemite.  Now my windows partition doesn't appear as a bootable option and on the mac side and when I'm on my mac side and I use the DiskUtility it doesn't recognize a Bootcamp partition but when I click on the hard drive it shows a Macintosh HD, Free Space, and Untitled which is the size of my Windows partition.  I've followed some of the other threads on here about this issue but I can't seem to get anywhere.  Can anybody help?

Can you check the other adjacent MS Data entries?

All the MS Data entries around it say the same thing Can't open filesystem.  Filesystem seems damaged.

The only other viable option is at 289710016 even though the size is too small.

    In the OP, you mention

but when I click on the hard drive it shows a Macintosh HD, Free Space, and Untitled which is the size of my Windows partition.

Is the correct size about 107GB and did you add about 60GB to Windows before the Yosemite upgrade?

I think I added about 60GB, but I'm not sure, it was about a month ago.  Here are screen shots of the current disk utiltity

Let us check if there is a valid header as it is now. Please post the output of

    sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s4 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C

When I go into that table starting 399132572 it says Can't open filesystem.  Filesystem seems damaged

We can mark the current partition as NTFS and see if it will boot. You will lose about 60GB, if it does work. Do you have a good backup of Windows and OS X?

There is also a GParted EFI in your list. Was Parted used to resize your NTFS after you shrunk OS X?

I don't have a backup at all of the windows side but I'm willing to take the risk.  What do I have to do to mark it as NTFS?  And I'm not sure if I used Parted.  I think I did the repartition on the windows side.

Please ignore the i386 MBR error message, but not any others.

    sudo fdisk -e /dev/disk0

    p

    setpid 4

    07

    p

    w

    y

Reboot and check if you can see the BC Volume and files in the volume using Finder.

I got to the "w" part and when I hit enter I got back this:

    fdisk: /dev/disk0: Operation not permitted

    JuddEilbergsMBP:~ juddeilenberg$

I think it kicked me from fdisk

You have El Capitan, so we need to disable SIP.

    1. Boot into Local Recovery (Command+R).

    2. Start Utilities -> Terminal.

    3. Type csrutil disable in Terminal and press Enter/Return.

    4. Type csrutil status.

    5. Boot normally, and type csrutil status to confirm that all individual entries are still disabled.

    Now retry the Fdisk steps.
