Q: Problem with music download to Iphone 6S following move to new PC

itunes refuses to download my music library to my iphone 6S because it says it is not authorised.  The computer is authorised.  All the music is mine and was ripped from CDs originally but I have had to copy it from an older computer where it was ok.

Had to move to a new Windows 10 PC due to age of old computer.  Set up of Itunes and all other aspects of setting up my new Iphone 6S has been fine.  Simply when I hit Sync it refuses to download the music library to the iphone on the grounds it is not authorised.  The computer has been authorised (with the same account used on the previous one).  The itunes purchased music hasn't been a problem and downloads.

Get a 'not authorised' type message about some audible files that also had to be copied across.  Again all legitimately purchased and downloaded using audible.

Any ideas what to do?

    Hi RobP15,

Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.

It looks like you're being asked to authorize files in iTunes, even though you've already gone through this process.

I recommend the troubleshooting steps in If iTunes repeatedly prompts you to authorize your computer.

Since you mentioned having some Audible files, if the steps in the link above don't solve it:

If you can’t play an audiobook

    • You might have exceeded the number of computers authorized to play the audiobook.

Audiobooks purchased from the iTunes Store can be played on up to five computers at a time. The computers must be authorized to play purchases from the iTunes Store. (You can’t play these files on a sixth computer until you deauthorize one of the already authorized computers.)

Audiobooks purchased from the Audible website can be downloaded to up to three computers at a time. The computers must be authorized to play purchases from Audible.

To see where an audiobook was purchased, select it, choose File > Get Info, click File, then look in the Kind field. Files purchased from the iTunes Store end in “.m4b.” Files purchased from the Audible website end in “.aa” or “.aax.”

    • You might be trying to listen to an Audible file that was purchased using someone else’s account.

To see who downloaded an Audible file, select it in the library, choose File > Get Info, and click File. The Purchased By or Owner field shows the user name for the account holder who downloaded the file."

    Best Regards.
