I am thinking that IT IS A PROBLEM WITH SOME TYPE OF VIDEO CARDS, I mean "hardware versions" or "different fabrication places".

I hope Apple can read this post, this forum, these messages to try to figure out the problem with the R9 290 and finally solve the driver error... I hope maybe some day.... maybe....

How can we send an important message to Apple Hardware Support? ideas???. But I mean all people with the problem. The union is strength

Once you get it working and see true 5k in Windows 10, you then need to increase text to 200% all icons and text are fine then....very small as standard.

If it is working, I will set the resolution to 2560 x 1440 with no scaling (100%). The main reason I am using Windows 10 on Bootcamp is to fully utilise the RAM and 3D capabilities of the GPU to play games.

My iMac 5K:

4790K i7

16GB RAM

R9 290X Card

Windows 10 64bit

So I have the same issues. On Win7 everything was fine. Now I have problems with this driver like following:

I downloaded 14.301 Catalyst from AMD.com and it worked. I have my Catalyst Manager and everything was ok, but to Fallout 4 is was too old, I got around 37fps on High Settings. That is not correct because I saw videos on youtube with exact the same system and he played it at 70fps.

So I downloaded the 15.201 and installed it. It finished correctly and in my Hardware Manager it seems to be ok. See pictures..

But THEN, the message from your original post...

So, is the driver installed correctly and just the Catalyst Manager is missing (I could live with that) or do you think that the installation isn't complete and I will get trouble with games further on?

I got another Bootcamp update today.

And now it supports 5K in Windows!!!

Please post the version of the latest AMD driver from Device Manager for tracking purposes.

I think you should re-install the drivers from Bootcamp instead.

I was using Windows 10 but still having the Code 43 error with the latest Bootcamp 6 update. So I re-install Windows 7 and managed to play Fallout 4 with Bootcamp 5.1 drivers (AMD driver 14.301). The game is set in High settings and no issue with the FPS. Also, no error with AMD Catalyst Control.

My system specs:

is there a way to update bootcamp from Windows? Apple started only providing it via the Mac App Store and it takes forever to download.

BC Assistant requires OSX Update. BC drivers for Windows 10 are available from Apple Software Update on the Windows side.
