Q: Running snow leopard alongside OS X El Capitan to run PPC games?
I'm looking for a way to install and play a game that needs PowerPC and was wondering whether it would be possible to run an older version of Mac alongside the latest version on a disk partition or something (I've never done anything like it before!) I've got a Macbook air 2014 (8GB RAM) running OS X El Capitan. I've seen you can buy Snow Leopard for £14.99 but no idea how to install this without replacing the current OS, which I don't want to do.
Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Snow Leopard can't be installed on that machine in the normal way. You would need to create a virtual machine using one of the applications mentioned above, or VMware Fusion, which I like better than Parallels. The server version of Snow Leopard can be installed in a virtual machine. You can find step by step insturctions for doing this by doing a bit of searching. You would not set up any of the server functions, but rather just use the basic OS. Keep in mind that this may not work out well if you don't have much RAM. For the VM's performance to be acceptably responsive, I think you will need more than 4GB of RAM.
