Screen shots?
-
Sep 14, 2015 12:21 PM in response to Tenashermanby DJB23,I messed the screen shot up but hover the cursor over the top right hand corner of the app you want to delete and just click, then in the app store it won't show the cloud icon anymore to say you've downloaded it. it'll just say 'GET'. Most apps you may want to delete are in that Not In My Library section... hope that helps. Look for that white glove then you know you are in the right place

Sep 16, 2015 8:28 AM in response to Michael Blackby Liveling,Michael Black, That being said, is "The data that Apps store or generate" maintained via iCloud after an app in deleted from every device? I've been trying to delete and reinstall an app, but the only option I'm given is to re-download from iCloud; at the very least, there is a different icon to touch when finding that app in the store. Are you implying that there is no difference between downloading an app for the first time from the AppStore and re-downloading a deleted app from iCloud? If you are, is it literally impossible to remove the history of aforementioned app download?

Sep 30, 2015 6:22 AM in response to ozzeealby EddieBer,So I just had this problem. 4.8G was full and it was all because of backups. Logging into the iCloud website and navigating to your iCloud storage will show you how much data is tied up in backups and other things like email, etc. So I went to setting in my iPhone and made sure Backup and iCloud Drive was turned on so that when I go into Settings->iCloud->Storage->Manage Storage, my device pops up (a little picture of my phone). I clicked on that and told it to delete my last/all my previous backups and I got 4.8G of my 5G back. I then turned off backup and iCloud drive as well as any other apps that have a switch to turn off any automatic iCloud storage. So hopefully that means I don't have to worry about space getting clogged up now. I don't really need so much stuff backed up anyway. If I get a new phone, I prefer to start blank slate regardless. It appears that the others are right about old "deleted" apps not taking up space. Those apps just hover there in limbo indefinitely, but it doesn't matter.

Sep 30, 2015 11:37 PM in response to EddieBerby dzho965,Hello,
I understand that the information the app store keeps on my previous purchases doesn't use up any space, still, I demand my privacy and would like to have this list erased. How do I do this? I do not wish for it to be displayed on my appstore which apps I already had installed by way of the cloud icon.
Thank you!
J

Oct 13, 2015 4:57 AM in response to walkerwrby illlustratorjon,Look Apple there are a lot of people and if all honest p*****g off customers about the fact that you CAN'T permanently delete unwanted apps.
you can hide them but cannot permanently delete them.
make things simple and give us the option to keep or delete NOT hide
is a simple thing to get right so do it and stop p*****g your customers off!

Oct 23, 2015 6:56 AM in response to kthrynileen1by cayugaduck123,Thank you for posting this. I too have very little data on my phone (clear photos regularly) and have nothing else except music (not a lot), and got the same message. Even after deleting back up I gain no more storage. I would love to get rid of apps I no longer want and cannot help but think these are somehow contributing to the lack of storage on my phone.

Apps in iCloud do not count against your storage.
Apps are not included in a backup.

What couldn't you have said better?
If it's an easy fix, then fix it.

May 7, 2016 8:05 AM in response to Michael Blackby j2dogs,MIchael Black - You seem to know about icloud regarding app storage. I hope you can help me. My problem is that I purchased an app MIPC that was working on my ipad pro. The developer then made an update and many of us cannot sign in anymore via ipad since the update. Here is my question/dilema: i deleted the app from my ipad but since it still is in icloud storage how can I get the latest release of the app when the bug is fixed instead of the one that is stored on icloud,
the buggy one? So I guess I am asking this, when an update to an app is released and I already have the app in icloud, is the icloud version the newest release or the bad one backed up? If the latter is the case, and I believe it is, I can never use this app again on my ipad and my camera is also useless. I hope Apple
has thought of this and pulls the latest release in when you download from icloud!
