Q: Icloud for Windows does not work with Outlook 2016

I am running a pc with windows 10 and using iCloud for windows to interface with my outlook.

I upgraded to Outlook 2016 and had a problem so I ended up removing office completely and installing office 2016 from scratch.

When I try to associate my apple email account with outlook 2016 using iCloud for Windows it gives me an error that iCloud needs to be repaired.

I have done this several times and still get the same message, so I completely removed iCloud and reinstalled it directly from the Web. Same result.

Is there a fix for this or is this just a case of the iCloud product not yet upgraded to work with Outlook 2016?

iCloud v 5.0 was mine and Outlook 2010 on a Windows 10 platform. Previous versions of iCloud did not have any problem.

Same problem with Windows 10 and Outlook 2016 as everyone here. Icloud keep asking me to repair it and in Itunes, I do not have the option to sync my contacts or colendar with Outlook.

Worse, I can not use Icloud for windows at all.

But I also found that the calendar app from Windows 10 do not sync with Outlook either ... So even stuff from Microsoft won't work together ...

Then plugging in my wife iphone to Itunes lately, I found that she do have the option to sync with Outlook, but the difference is that she did  not update her iphone lately.

Anyway, this is very frustrating ...

To sync your Outlook address book and agenda with that on your iPhone, you unfortunately have no other choice but to downgrade from Office 2016 to Office 2013.

Fortunately, it takes less 5 minutes and is fairly painless if you have an Office 365 subscription. Thank you, Microsoft!

There are probably (1) no users of Macs + Windows Phones, (2) very few users of PCs + Windows Phones, (3) quite a few users of Macs + iPhones, but (4) many users of PCs + iPhones.

This fourth and largest segment being by far the most important, Apple should update A.S.A.P. its iCloud (currently version 5.0) for it to be compatible with Office 2016.

So far I haven't seen any response or reaction from either Apple or Microsoft for an issue which has been talked over times and again for the last 2 months! Both companies are complacent with their so called "advances" in technological innovation... Hellas, Apple TV or Apple watch won't do... And just for your information, iCloud 5.0 won't sync with Outlook 2010 either! So I am surprised to hear that it syncs with Outlook 2013... So much for the calloussness of both companies, once again!

Spoke with Apple Tech Support today, Senior Level, and was told an update is scheduled for sometime in December that will fix this problem.

So, at least they acknowldege that the problem exists!! Thank God for that. For a moment I thought that Apple communities were an internal joke for tech freaks.

I have the same problem with iCloud 5 and Outlook 2016. I called Apple and they told me to call Microsoft so I called Microsoft expecting them to blame apple. What they did impressed me the Microsoft support tech told me there is a incompatibility with outlook 2016 and he offer to remove office 365 and install office 2013 so I can him remote access to my PC and he did it for me and Icloud works flawlessly with outlook 2103. I asked what the 2016 remedy is and he told me its up to apple to fix.

I have to say the Microsoft tech far outshined the apple response.

Apple get it together and fix the icloud issue with outlook 2016.

Argghh! I thought I did something wrong. I wouldn't give Microsoft too many props on this. I just went through two installs of Office 365 to fix various issues all stemming from the original sin of iCloud no longer working with Outlook 2016. MS software makes being functional pretty darn difficult. I agree that Apple MUST address this issue so that we can sync with Outlook 2016, but c'mon MS think about your user community when you roll out a new version. This rarely happens with Apple and certainly not on one of their flagship products.

Is there a way to manually sync contacts from Outlook 2016 to iPhone contacts?

At the very top of this page is a response dated Nov 19 from alex_h1 identifying the fact that Apple is working on a solution. Also, if you go to the download link in his post, you will find at the bottom of the download page, it states a fix is to be released sometime this month. That support document was updated Nov 24.

I think you must to try uninstall iCloud and also "Apple Application Support (32-bit)" v 4.1 and "Apple Application Support (64-bit)" v4.1 first before trying to install another version of iCloud.
