Q: Error 4014 iPhone 6S stuck in Recovery Mode
Error 4014 iPhone 6S stuck in Recovery Mode
Hi there, I am having a bad problem with my 1 month old iPhone 6S.
As I was updating to the latest iOS 9.1 on my iPhone 6S. I am not sure exactly in which part of the updating process this happened, since I left the phone working for an hour. When I came back the phone was off and will not turn back on, no logos it is just a black screen. I know there was sufficient battery time left to complete the process so that should not be an issue.
I pressed the home button and the power button at the same time for more than 20 seconds and nothing appears. I tried this connected to the power outlet and connected to the computer with iTunes and nothing happened.
When I connect the phone via the original usb cable it opens in iTunes with the following message, “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes”
I press “Ok” and the following appears, “iPhone Recovery Mode. If you are experiencing problems with your iPhone, you can restore its original settings by clicking Restore iPhone.”
I then proceed to click on “Restore iPhone”
The process begins and it says “Extracting software” in the iTunes display,
when this extraction process is finished it changes to “preparing iPhone for restoring.” During this process the Apple logo appears on the screen for about 5 seconds and then it goes black again.
In the end a small window pops up on my Macbook and it says the following, “The iPhone could not be restored. An unkown error occured (4014).”
My iTunes version is the latest and I have restarted the Macbook several times after updating both iOS and iTunes on my Macbook. I am running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.5
So at the moment the iPhone is all black and doesn´t seem to react in any way with buttons or combination of buttons. It´s basically dead.
Also, I live abroad where there is no official Apple Store where I can use my warranty and get a new phone. The iPhone was bought in the United States.
Some help would be greatly appreciated…
