Q: Icloud for Windows does not work with Outlook 2016

I am running a pc with windows 10 and using iCloud for windows to interface with my outlook.

I upgraded to Outlook 2016 and had a problem so I ended up removing office completely and installing office 2016 from scratch.

When I try to associate my apple email account with outlook 2016 using iCloud for Windows it gives me an error that iCloud needs to be repaired.

I have done this several times and still get the same message, so I completely removed iCloud and reinstalled it directly from the Web. Same result.

Is there a fix for this or is this just a case of the iCloud product not yet upgraded to work with Outlook 2016?

    And (much to my surprise) it seems to work flawlessly with Office 2016. I would however recommend uninstalling the old version and rebooting before installing the new version

    Thank you Laz91!  I have been fighting Windows 10 for 6 days now, and my final issue was Outlook 2016 and icloud not communicating.  Just a couple hours ago seen icloud update, 5.1 I believe, on my desktop and tried on my laptop.  Still did not work, BUT for everyone as frustrated as I was.  Laz91 has the answer.  Uninstall icloud, restart computer, download latest icloud software, you will be asked to restart again, and icloud will ask you to set up sync information for outlook!  DONE!  Finally back where I can sync contacts, calendar, pictures, and email!  Glad that nightmare is over!

    Fortunately this has worked for my two Windows 10/Office 2016 systems.
    One system has the original August release of Windows 10 and the other had the November updated Windows 10 installation.

    However I did have to uninstall iCloud etc first to get it to work.  The Apple Software update app did not succeed in getting me a working system.

    I had to log out of iCloud and log back in to get it to work.  A re-install of iCloud would accomplish this, but it is possible that all is needed is the logging back in.

    Sorry, I guess I should have told you the whole story, I have been fighting Windows 10 for over a month with 5 other problems Before I found the Outlook 2016/iCloud issue, I tried to return to Windows 8 but could not and had to find a new updated version of Windows 10 and completly reload it, that fixed everything except the outlook 2016/iCloud issue and my computer not connection to any of my printers, had to get HP online chat support for an hour to fix that problem!  Bottom line, had NO problems until I upgraded to Windows 10!

    So far, absolutely no luck getting this update to work with Windows 7 Pro x64 and Outlook 2016 (365).

    Tried uninstalling all software (apple related and office) and reinstalling, all to no avail.

    Has anyone had any luck with this combination or have Apple achieved the impossible (and yet expected result) and released a fix that actually doesn't solve the problem?

    James

    I Just updated to icloud 5.1 and it did require me to log out of iCloud after install and restart but it's perfect now. I was not able to install 5.0 (error code 2343). Running latest Windows 10 (threshold 2?) and Office 2016. Make sure you close and remove all icloud connections when you log out.

    1) Updated from iCloud 5.0 to iCloud 5.1 using "Apple Software Update" (I was automatically prompted for it) then rebooted;

    2) Updated from Office 2013 to Office 2016 via the Office 365 website;

    3) Logged off from iCloud and logged back in, forcing a fresh download of my address book and calendar from iCloud to Outlook 2016.

    Outlook 2016 is finally synchronizing properly with iCloud under a Windows 10/1511 environment

    I now have a second identical PC to similarly upgrade

    The latest disaster after installing ICloud 5.1 is that now Outlook 2016 doesn't work. It does for a few minutes and then freezes and quits.

    This is totally out of hand.

    Are you running windows 7?

    My outlook hasn't frozen but I cannot get the update to do anything more than just give me the same errors the previous version did.

    Not happy...

    Windows 10, but I may have solved the problem. I deleted ICloud 5.1 from my PC, re-installed it and it looks like everything is working.

    Fingers crossed!

    lucky you...

    I've tried uninstalling and re-installing pretty much everything and nothing has worked so far.

    Just keep getting this:

    Capture.PNG

    Not entirely sure how a fresh install of a supposedly fixed program can have installed incorrectly, but hey ho...

    Try uninstalling and installing again.

    Here, i just updated thru the "Apple Software Update", and then logout and login.

    (Windows 10 Pro, Office 2016).
