Dec 8, 2015 4:30 PM in response to James_0807by mhoffman2001,Just as a point of reference, the 5.1 update is now working fine for me. I never downgraded Office, I have been running Office 2016 continuously and just postponing the iCloud update for 5.0. When 5.1 showed up, I let it install, and it's working fine.
It may be significant that I don't use iCloud at all for mail and such things, I use it only to sync my Photos to my Windows machine. I have all the other features unchecked.

Dec 8, 2015 6:44 PM in response to James_0807by BWWiggs,Did you open Outlook after restarting the computer and get a message asking about Trusting an add on? You need to say 'always trust this provider' or 'trust this time'. Not the exact wording. The third option is 'deny or no this add on'. This add on is the key to the sync across Outlook and iCloud for Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks.
If you did not get this question, check to see if the add in (iCloud App Add in) is listed in your add-ins as Inactive. If it is not there, then your install of iCloud for Windows did not finish or some other problem that you'll have to figure out there. You may need to install it again. Your firewall may be blocking but the next notes are the more likely essential to for a successful install.
The calendar and contacts set your want to sync with Outlook need to be selected (checked) in your iCloud.com.
Also important is sharing and making sure you've closed iCloud.com while the update runs and all the changes take place: GO TO iCloud.com check that you are NOT sharing the calendar and contacts. then log out of iCloud before installing the iCloud for Windows 5.1.
Always restart the computer after every install. Make sure Outlook is closed during the install of the iCloud for Windows. Do not open it when the computer restarts after the install of the app. the APP should open during the restart so you can check the options and APPLY them. Then close iCloud. Open Outlook, expect the question about trusting the add-in - iCloud APP Add-in. There is a blow by blow instruction in the supporting page for the download.

I had to remove all of my Office 2013 manually before I could get the Office 365 to install. So, to answer your question. Yes, I have a click to run install of Office 365 / 2016 (desktop) and iCloud for Windows 5.1 worked right off with no problems. I followed the instructions for installing it from a link on the Download page.
Is Outlook 2016 resident on your computer? Look in the programs list for Office 2016 (in fact it is there that I first saw that this was a 'click to run' install of office 2016.
I hope you get this to work. Getting work done is smooth and nice once you get these functions back.

However, unable to get iCloud to work with Outlook on my PC. Cannot figure this out and have followed all steps.
Any suggestions?

Run the Windows Update to see if there are updates that you need to run.
Office Updates: I opened the Office 365 / 2016 link for UPDATES last week and there were several. on the FILE tab in Outlook select Office Account. The logo for Office 365 will be on this page. See the Office Update link. Let it go look for Office updates and bring your software current. I did this type of housekeeping before I installed iCloud for Windows 5 that did not work. SO When I installed 5.1 yesterday, everything was clean and current.
Shut your anti virus and firewall down while you are running the iCloud for Windows 5.1 install. Wait to turn that back on after you have iCloud setup and Outlook has the Add-in for iCloud active. Of course, if the re-install of the iCloud 5.1 does not resolve the problem, turn your anti-virus and firewall back on.
If these things do not help then there is something different happening on this computer vs. the other you're compare it too. It may be in your Windows 10.

Dec 9, 2015 5:36 AM in response to BWWiggsby James_0807,I have tried everything you have suggested, thought you were onto something when you mentioned the fact calendars shouldn't be shared, because mine all were. But even after rectifying this, the update still does not allow me to sync anything with Outlook.
I have the add-in showing in Outlook, but no Tab in the ribbon like there used to be. Do you have this?
I guess i'll just have to wait for the next update and see if that works, because the only thing i haven't tried is a complete reinstall of windows 7, which really shouldn't be necessary, especially given it clearly works for most people.
I'm out of ideas.

File -> Options -> Add-Ins
At the Bottom: handle the COM-Add-Ins. The iCloud Outlook Add-In must be running (i.e. checked).

Dec 9, 2015 6:41 AM in response to BWWiggsby mfranca,Seems as if James_807 and I are having the same problem. iCloud add-in does show in Outlook but does not show as a Tab, and if select Outlook on Outlook Setup for iCloud manager ge the error message "iCloud did not install properly...".
Also:

Dec 9, 2015 7:02 AM in response to mfrancaby James_0807,I've just spoken to Apple and they haven't got a clue, I was advised that it would only work with windows 10, but then they retracted that when she opened the web page that says it's compatible with windows 7. Then they just said ring microsoft, even though it's apple software that is telling me it's installed wrong...
