Dec 10, 2015 7:11 AM in response to mundertakercby jason269,Hello, mundertakerc.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your SuperDrive doesn't work on your MacBook Pro but works on others. Can you reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac and test?
- Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).
- If the drive repeatedly does not accept discs, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or make an appointment with an Apple Retail Store.

Dec 11, 2015 10:41 AM in response to jason269by mundertakerc,I have done the SMC reset and it did not seem to work. I plugged in the Superdrive and it did the same thing, nothing. So.... I decided to try to log in as a guest, and when I plugged the Superdrive up, it worked and accepted discs. I then went back to my normal log in and it worked. It was joy that was short lived as when I put the computer to sleep and tried it this morning, it would not work again. So I logged in as a guest again, and it worked. I went back to my normal profile and it is working now. I have not tried to turn it off yet to see if it will still work. It seems to be something in the profile. I will test tonight when I put it to sleep after work and then try it again a few hours later. Any suggestions if it does not work?
