Q: Mail is active and will not allow me to shutdown or log out of the computer unless I log out of mail. I have not been able to do that.
Mac Air OS El Capitan 4GB memory, 256GB storage, 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
When I attempt to logout of one account to go to another or when I attempt to shutdown, I receive a message "Mail" interrupted logout. To continue logging out, quit "Mail". I haven't been able to do that. I went to System Preferences; iCloud; unchecked mail but Mail remains active. I can't seem to find another way to quit mail. The "quit mail" is greyed out.
