Q: Compressor shared processing temporary files location

I have set up a small group of two computers to distribute the workload from Compressor 4.2.1. My problem is that my internal system SSD is too small for the temporary files that are created. The temporary files are created on my internal drive regardless of where I specify the files output. How can I have Compressor put the temporary files on another (external) harddrive?

You can't. If your internal drive is too full for those temp files, it is too full for anything. There should be at least 15% of that dive as free space. Less than that, you're asking for trouble.

Actually you can. You'll need to use the shell terminal for that. Type 'qmasterprefs -cluster on storagepath /here/goes/your/path' and hit enter.
You need to reset qmaster using 'qmasterprefs -resetCluster'
