Q: Itunes Error - iTunes cannot connect to Store Purchases - If you have any firewall software, make sure it has been set to allow communication on port 443.

My itunes has been fine. All of a sudden today it's now giving me this error: Itunes Error - iTunes cannot connect to Store Purchases - If you have any firewall software, make sure it has been set to allow communication on port 443.

I don't have my firewall turned on. I logged out of itunes, quit itunes, logged back in - still a problem.

Was there an update and this is now a bug? HELP!

Thanks!

This has to be an Apple problem because it is happening on my Mac Pro and my Surface Pro.  Started more or less the same time on both.

Same error here, 2010 mbp 15, updated today, started maybe 3 days ago, haven't found the cause for it. If there's so many of us, it's probably on Apple's side.

I have been getting this today since my latest software update from Apple for my iMac. Worked fine before, restarted as requested after software update, boom, getting this stupid message all the time.

Like so many other people here, I've been having this problem for the past few days, with no changes to my system (MacBook Pro), no peripherals attached, no reason for it. It's pretty clearly something wrong on Apple's end given the posts here. Hopefully they will see this and track down the problem. It's certainly annoying, but doesn't seem to actually effect anything.

I just hate that the error was so specific.

The good news is that I stopped and restarted iTunes and haven't seen the error now for a half hour.  Apple might be working on it.

Sorry for the me-too post, but "me too"...

The error started appearing yesterday afternoon. The only notable thing I did yesterday morning was install Pages 5.6.1, Numbers 3.6.1, and iMovie 10.1. This was *before* I upgraded to OSX 10.11.2. Upgrading to 10.11.2 seems to have reduced the frequency of the error message but it hasn't eliminated it.

Several people have said that the symptom started after doing an install or upgrade of *something*. Makes me wonder if there's some cache that gets cleared which uncovers the problem.

(Or it could be a coincidence.)

I haven't seen the error again since the other day when I got it to go away, but I haven't been working in itunes as much as when I did this original post. Crossing my fingers.

I still think it has to be an apple glitch since any fix anyone has reported seems to be random and not the same as another. For the record, I had not updated java and I don't think it was the USB hub. I've never had the issue before.

This is as annoying as the glitch with ios 9 that keeps kicking back errors on my gmail account and won't let me get my mail! (I have to restart my iphone and ipad several times a day to make it stop). I've reported it to apple. Still always secretly hoping they are paying attention to this forum.

Hi everyone.  I'm the Ed. Tech. director for a school and we started having the same issue on several of our laptops within the last few days.

After troubleshooting everything on our end, I contacted Apple Support directly.  I got transferred a few times and they were perplexed by the issue as well.  The ticket is still open and I referenced this thread in the conversation and the thread number has been added to the support ticket.

The person I spoke to wasn't sure of the issue, but if it is related to Apple's servers, he said it should resolve itself.  I'll check back here too and hopefully someone finds the solution!

Exactly the same here. iPad and iPhone fine, but getting message constantly. Cannot access iTunes Match. Very annoyed. Have wasted time and also believe it's Apple. Please keep me posted. Started with El Capitan. Update last night has not solved.

I have been having this issue on and off the last few days.  Today, what worked for me is to turn off ethernet and connect to wi-fi.  For some reason it worked.  I closed iTunes, re-opened and voila, my recent purchase showed up.  If I turn wi-fi off, and ethernet back on it has the same error.  Which is weird because it is connecting to the same router.

Darn it. I got all the same, plus, I can't play any of my purchased movies. Not even those that are available offline.

I know all the fixes are different but here's what worked for me after multiple restarts did nothing.

I signed out of the iTunes Store. I signed back in. I got the error again, but I also got a message that I needed to verify my payment information. I then realized I changed debit cards but forgot to update the Store with my new information, and they had attempted to process a payment. After correcting it, I haven't received the message again and once again have been reconnected to iCloud Music Library.

May be worth checking for some of you, anyway.

Same problem here, for about 3 to 4 days. Here's what my console says:

This may or not be related, but I've also noticed during the same time period that just about any initial action I try to take on the internet (load a new web page, get mail, send input to a server, etc...) it won't work the first time. Safari gives me the "can't establish a secure connection" fail alert, then when hitting reload it will work.

Yup - same problem here. Started yesterday and now all the music I've added to my library via Apple Music has disappeared along with this error popping up.
