Q: Handoff still doesn't work

OKay so the latest update that SPECIFICALLY stated it resolves issues with handoff & continuity, still doesn't work. Here are the following fixes i've tried.

1. reset pram

2. reset SMC

3. turn off bluetooth & delete plist

4. turned off iCloud on mac, turned off iCloud on iPhone, turned both back on

5. turned handoff on & off on both mac & iPhone.

None of the supposed fixes does $hit!

Has anyone else gone through all the above "supposed fixes" & got it to work with maybe some other fix not listed above??

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), 2.7Ghz i5, 8GB

CLICKY CLICK---> How to Get 'Handoff' Working in OS X Yosemite

    OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Use Software Update/App Store to update your OS to OS 10.10.5.  Also, update everything SU/AS has to offer for your computer.  When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.

Also, please update/correct your ASC profile when done.

Thank you for reporting the troubleshooting efforts you have previously tried.  Very helpful to users trying to help.

Well, I tried your suggestion & nope still doesn't work. The icon at the bottom left always pull up when I go into my iPhone for text messages but nothing ever "Handsoff" to the Mac. Safari handoff but not messages.

And I tried looking for the area to update my current software but I can't find it. You'd think it would be under my account settings but nope.

Not sure if you have already tried these suggestions but it's worth a look see:

Hey thanks Baby Boomer for all your help I appreciate it. yeah I finally found the area to update my system info.

Maybe I'm wrong but I could have sworn when handing off from the iPhone to the Mac or any other device doesn't the conversation & thread handoff as well? What I mean is that let's say I'm texting someone on my phone, "How are you today", then I go to my office where my Mac is doesn't that last text get copied? I could have sworn it did, no?? And when I'm typing on my Mac to continue the iMessage conversation doesn't that automatically copy to my phone to keep track of the convo???

I could be wrong? But I thought thats what Handoff did??

Just found out something weird. When I was sending a iMessage from my Mac to a buddy of mine he didn't respond immediately so I texted him on my phone the same question "Did you get these texts" & he said "Oh they came over as "Unknown Sender" so he didn't answer.

I have no experience using iMessage or cell phones.  Suggest that you ask in the iChat forum area.  It's where the iMessage knowledgeable users/experts hang out.

Check out Ian_Alaska's Apple's recommended response in this thread:  I keep getting a text message from 'Unknown' and the message says Service Denied???
