Dec 9, 2015 1:49 PM in response to James_0807by RCW600,I'm not familiar with Click to Run, but after Googling it I think it is a genuinely different product (at least behind the scenes) so that may be your problem. However, I don't think it's true that Office 365 is necessarily Click to Run. I am using Office 365 (on a business subscription) and I simply downloaded and installed the whole Office suite, which as far as I can see is not Click to Run and is identical to a one-off purchase of Office 2016.

Dec 9, 2015 2:15 PM in response to James_0807by haroldfromnorth richland hills,Well, I just uninstalled icloud 5.1 (one more time), rebooted, repaired office 365 (one more time), rebooted, reinstalled icloud, rebooted, and it now works with outlook. No error message when reconnecting with outlook etc.
All calendars, contacts, etc.
Will wonders never cease

Dec 9, 2015 4:41 PM in response to haroldfromnorth richland hillsby Wdeaver,I did the same thing yesterday and it worked fine but now Outlook freezes and cannot be restarted without rebooting even after Icloud was deleted from my PC... Message says the .ost file cannot be found.

Dec 9, 2015 6:34 PM in response to Wdeaverby segalsegal,I hadn't thought of the .ost versus .pst variable. I wonder whether that bears any relation to whether iCloud 5.1 works. I only use .pst, and iCloud 5.1 works.

Dec 10, 2015 4:08 AM in response to RCW600by James_0807,From the Microsoft Office support pages:
"Click-to-Run is the technology used to install Office 365 subscription and most other Office 2013 and Office 2016 products. Windows Installer technology (MSI) is used to install the volume license editions of Office, like Microsoft Office Professional Plus and Microsoft Office Standard."

Office 365 subscriptions use Click-to-Run to install, but whether they are classed as Click-to-Run once they are installed, I have no idea...
Does anyone know anything about Click-to-Run?
Here's some more from a different link on the microsoft technet pages:
"Click-to-Run uses virtualization technology to run an Office product in a self-contained, virtual environment on the local computer. This isolated environment provides a separate location for the Office product files and settings to be stored so that they don’t change other applications that are already installed on the computer."
"Even though the Office product runs in a self-contained environment, the Office product can interact with the other applications that are installed on the computer. Macros, in-document automation, and cross-Office product interoperability will work. Click-to-Run is also designed to allow locally-installed add-ins and dependent applications to work with it. However, there is the possibility that some add-ins or other integration points with Office might behave differently or might not work when you are using Click-to-Run."

Seems like anyone who has got this working is just very lucky?

Dec 10, 2015 11:54 AM in response to haroldfromnorth richland hillsby James_0807,Right, I've now tried doing all this on my laptop which is running windows 10.
It works on there, so basically the issue is with windows 7.
Which is great work from Apple since 49% of PC's are still running Windows 7...
Compared to a combined 26% for 8,8.1 & 10...

Dec 10, 2015 7:50 PM in response to James_0807by Philip Cognetta,My Add-in is ticked and the 5.1 still does NOT work for me. I am 64 bit Windows 10 and Office 365 with Outlook 2016 ... reported this issue months ago and was really hoping 5.1 would do the trick but no luck for me.

Dec 10, 2015 10:46 PM in response to Philip Cognettaby Rustpunt,I also have Windows 10 and office 365 with outlook 2016.
I have done the installation of "icloud for windows 5.1" on 3 PC's.
On two PC's; afther the installation, i have to do a full repair of the Office 365. Then it was working.
On a third PC, i have to uninstall "icloud for windows 5.1" and afther then reinstalling it(icloud for windows 5.1), everything was working fine.

Dec 11, 2015 12:13 AM in response to Maryvalcrosby Alabama591,Dear Maryvalcros, as previously noted, iCloud is perfectly functional with Outlook 2013!
I, therefore, suggest, for your own personal peace-of-mind, to downgrade from Office 2016 to Office 2013 and perform your projects through the latter platform. This discussion, seemingly, will go on for a sometime in the future without any productive solution which works for everyone! What I am suggesting definetly works and what's important is that we should somehow advance as oppose to resort to chimaeral and wishful thinking.
I am currently running Windows 10 64-bit as well as Office 2013 64-bit, with iCloud 5.1. No problem whatsoever! Do I want, to install Office 2016 and its crappy offspring called Office 365? No way Jose...
