Dec 8, 2015 9:34 PM in response to joe619by FelixGarcia,Same problem here, is the iMac connected via wifi or ethernet to your home network? Mine is via ethernet, I have a 2008 Mac Pro no wifi card.

Dec 8, 2015 9:40 PM in response to FelixGarciaby joe619,FelixGarcia: My iMac is actually connected with both Ethernet AND wifi, with Ethernet being preferred over the wifi.
I actually just tried disabling wifi and then disabling and re-enabling facetime, but no luck...
Please let me know if you find a solution!

Dec 9, 2015 2:30 PM in response to FelixGarciaby Richard Burrows,I found this thread here
WiFi calling not working on iMac
reading it , bluetooth LE/4.0 is required even for wifi calling (and I don't think that is supported on the older systems - like my 2010 MBA)
"To determine your Mac's Bluetooth version
- Click the menu.
- Select About This Mac.
- Click on the More Info... button.
- Click on the System Report... button.
- Select Bluetooth from the sidebar on the left, underneath "Hardware."
- Scan down the list of information until you find "LMP Version."
If your Mac is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, LMP Version will say 0x6. Anything lower than that is an older version of Bluetooth."
