Q: This isn't working on my iMac running 10.11.2 when my iPhone is off

I noticed that NumberSync with AT&T was supposed to start working today on iOS 9.2 and above.  However, it's not working for me on my iMac running 10.11.2 when my iPhone is off.  It works fine when the iPhone is on.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), Late 2009; 27-inch; 8 GB RAM

AT&T has done a great job of posting detailed requirements for NumberSync—something Apple failed to do.

Now, if Apple only adds a link on their support documment to AT&T's support document, Apple's support document will be complete

These posts were very helpful, however I have been trying without success to get NumberSync to work with my AT&T iPhone 6 and iMac running El Capitan.  Both the iPhone and iMac have all the latest updates.  Wifi calling is working on my iPhone.  "Calls on Other Devices" is also turned on and I checked the box that says "iMac".

But I still can't make or receive calls unless my iPhone is turned on.  There is no option to "Upgrade to Wifi Calling" in FaceTime preferences, nor did FaceTime ask for a 6 digit code when I toggled "Calls to Other Devices" or "Wifi Calling" off then back on.

I did have problems getting wifi calling to work initially.  It turns out that AT&T had problems with unlocked iPhones like mine.   Wonder if I'm having problems because I have an unlocked iPhone 6?
