Q: I downloaded the OS X Server approx 18 months ago and since the El Capitan update, now the server will not finish "set up".  It freezes up when preparing Wiki Service.  I have trashed the server, downloaded it from the App Store, nothing changed.

I purchased and downloaded the Mac OS X Server approx 15 months ago.  It set up and worked fine.  Ever since the El Capitan download, it will not set up and freezes up when Preparing the wiki service.

    What version of Server are you trying to load? If you are trying to install Server 5 then you have to be on Yosemite or El Cap. Your question isn't clear as to what the El Capitain download is (OS or Server version) but your tagline says 10.7.3 which won't run with the latest Server version.
