Q: After upgrade IOS 9.2 I lost all Homekit settings. Can not create the same "house" again, but is not visible in my Homekit settings.

After executing the IOS 9.2 upgrade for my iPhone 6, it seem to have lost all my Homekit settings. There is no longer my "house" available under the Homekit settings, nor in the "Eve" app, nor in the "Home" app or the Insteon app. Can not create new "house" with names I used before, but no place to list them or reset them. Homekit is no longer functioning in my house.

 

Originally I have Philips HUE lamps (8) and 6 Elgato Eve Door / Window sensors.

 

Please help ;-)

    Noticed that on my iPad (with IOS 9.2 update) the Homekit settings are still there. Now trying to log out and back in again in iCloud in my iPhone, checking if that will work

    Logging out/in iCloud did not change the Homekit settings on my iPhone. In settings, homekit my "house" is still not visible. It gives me the status something like "currently no houses of invites available. create a house in an app supported by homekit" (translated from Dutch)

    Getting even further away on where I want to be....after resetting my Homekit setup via "privacy", "homekit"....

     

    Now: situation: I don't see my "Homekit" item listen below Safari in my settings any longer......

     

    How to get it back?

     

    1. Now trying to re-create my "house" in the Eve app, creating a new "house"

    I'm having the same issue, although it occurred under iOS 9.1. I installed 9.2 and tried to restore my phone from an older back up. The settings re-appeared for 5 minutes then they disappeared again when I turned on some Hue lights. Now I can't re-add Siri to Hue (it says that the bridge is paired to another user—which is impossible).

    I wonder if Hue is the culprit.

    I've reset my whole setup on my iPad (on my iPhone it did not show up at all). Then reset all my Egato Eve Door sensors and added them to my new "house" again ;-(

    After that added my Hue Bridge to the new homekit setup, added the individual lightbulbs again. During the setup of the new house, Homekit settings became available again. Everything is back working now, but it took me through the whole setup procedure.

     

    Now hoping it does not happen again....

    Are you saying that all the scenes, triggers, etc. re-appeared at some point along the process without having to re-enter them? Unfortunately this is not the first time that this happens to me, and out of the blue.

    I have the same problem. Lost the configuration first on the phone, later on iPad (it worked on the pad even after the iPhone HomeKit configuration was lost), but it still works on my wife's phone as she was invited to share the configuration. I assume this indicates an iCloud sync problem.

     

    Have tried everything, logging in and out of iCloud and keychain and all. Nothing works. Not tempted to reset all and having to install everything again, I have many bulbs and eve sensors....

     

    Somehow  just hoping it will magically reappear just as it magically disappeared.... Anybody have any news or experiences?

    Having exact same issue as CC. Was working on my iPhone and iPad. shared to wife via iCloud. I no longer  have access, but my wife does.

    Hi Dan,

     

    So in the end I decided to reset the HomeKit configuration, it never came back. I then also had to remove the configuration on my wife's phone. But as I found a way to only reset the HomeKit part of the Philips Hue, it was a much simpler process than I feared and I did not have to set up all the lights etc... again. But re-setting it means reconnecting the other devices and setting up the rooms again. If you have scenes and triggers, you would need to set up those as well, but the Scenes in Philips Hue can be kept if you avoid factory resetting the Hue Brigde.

     

    The steps I followed below:

     

    1. Before deciding to reset the HomeKit, it makes sense to follow these instructions and hope for the best: http://www.imore.com/did-your-homekit-home-disappear-heres-how-reset-homekit-syn c
    2. However, none of these steps worked for me. That's why I decided to reset the configuration. This is done in Settings - Privacy - HomeKit - Reset HomeKit Configuration.
    3. After that you need to re-connect all your devices. I have a set of Elgato Eve, they all have a reset button on the back. You need the HomeKit code available to reconnect them though, don't reset them if you don't have the HomeKit code (the one you scanned to set them up initially). There is one code for each device.
    4. Reconnect them and set HomeKit up from scratch.
    5. Now, for the Philips Hue part, this is a bit more tricky, but it saves a lot of time to avoid factory resetting it. Luckily, in the bridge version 1.11 and later, there is a way to only reset the HomeKit part of the bridge, and keep all the lights and scenes. In future updates of the Hue App this will probably be integrated with a simple button, but right now, you have to manually send the commands to the Hue Bridge using Terminal on the Mac. You see the latest post in this thread showing the command: http://www.developers.meethue.com/content/bridge-already-paired-another-user-fix -needed. However, in order to actually send this to your Hue Bridge, you need to log on to it via terminal.          The steps are easy: First, get the IP address of your Hue Bridge, e.g. via myhue online. Then open terminal on a Mac, and write the line curl -H "Accept: application/json" -X POST --data '{"devicetype":"test user","username":"newdeveloper"}' http://<bridge ip address>/api


    After sending your first command to Hue, you will get an error message (explained here: http://hkionline.net/posts/using-phillips-hue-from-the-command-line), because the Bridge needs to know you have access to it. Simply press the "Pair" button on your bridge and send the command again. Now you are logged on. Finally, then just send the command curl --request PUT --data "{\"homekit\": {\"factoryreset\": true}}" http://IP_ADRES_BRIDGE/api/newdeveloper/config

     

    It it worked, you get this message: [{\"success\":{\"/config/homekit/factoryreset\":true}}]

     

    6. Connect Hue to your HomeKit again via the Hue app (Settings, Siri voice control)

     

    As said, I expect this last process (Step 5) to be much simplified in a Hue app update, so you might also wait and see what comes, might be just a few weeks away. If you decide to wait, you can use Hue normally, but without Siri or HomeKit support.

    Thanks CC for the reply! I found an easier way to reset it. It looks like it's an issue with Hue. You have to reset Siri Voice Control on the Hue Hub. I followed Phillips Hue's instructions and it worked great. If it happens again, just follow these instructions.

    IInstalled Hue app. HomeKit is not in my iPhone settings.  Tried turning off the keychain.  No luck. Tried logging out of iCloud and sett up the phone as new.  Nothing.  Have 4th gen AppleTV, Hue Kit, iPhone 6s and it just doesn't work at all with the AppleTV.  Can setup all the lights, and use an iPad as a hub, bit not the AppleTV.  All is HomeKit compatible.

     

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Rebuilt the stupid phone twice and nothing.
