Q: I can not assign full capacity to my main partition

Hi all!

I have macbook pro 13" early 2015 250gb SSD and Im running OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite

As you can see below my main partition can not get to 250gb

I have tried to slide it down (from the right corner) and when I hit "Apply" it goes up again.

If I press the "+" button I get this:

Now, when I hit "Apply" I get this error

So basically, I can not maximize my main partition and I can not create a new on to this blank storage.

I have used to do this with internet recovery, no luck.

I have no cs , because I reverted it.

Any ideas please? I have lost many hours searching around the web ( I even reinstall OS X ) with NO luck

boot into the recovery and then erase the drive. Don't partition, just erase.

Yes, but I will lose my data with this, correct? How will I boot into mac after that?

U mean Recovery and not Internet recovery, right?

If you erase the disk, you will lose your data, which is why you need a backup, preferably 2 on 2 different hard drives. Before doing anything else, make a backup.

Try booting into the Recovery Partition (command - R on a restart) and see if you can use the /// at the bottom right hand corner to enlarge the current partition.

Thank you Eric for helping me. Unfortunately, I have already tried that but no hope. When I enlarge partition with the /// button and hit apply, it goes up again.

So if I erase all "mac" partition after backing up everything, I will have my full storage available again? (250gb)

Thank you Alabador! I backed up everything and erased my disk. Right now I'm having 250gb storage again! THANK YOU
