Q: Can you import an ics file?

I am moving from android to iOs and wish to copy events from my Google calendar into an iCal.  I've exported the events, but cannot figure out how to import them into the Apple iCloud or my iPad/iPhone ,,,

iPhone 4S, iOS 8

    You could just add your Google account to your phone. Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>Add New Account>Google. All of your events will then appear on the phone in the Calendar app. (iCal is an old name for the calendar application on a Mac). No importing is required.
