Dec 9, 2015 2:26 PM in response to Don Ayerby Don Ayer,I don't know if it's fixed, but it's working at the moment. And I see that I've now got 42K+ tracks in my library. Hrmmm.
All of my macs sync to my thinned down 25K track library except for one Mac Mini at home. That one is hooked up to my home theater system with my full library on it that I use for sharing on my home network. I didn't actually have iTunes Match turned on on that machine because it had too many tracks to use iTunes Match, obviously. It must have enabled iTunes Match, and uploaded 17,000+ tracks automatically? That seems...odd.

Dec 12, 2015 4:24 AM in response to JGO304by JungleNYC,How could you tell it changed? Has it rolled out to everyone?
I'm having a hard time getting definitive info on this :\
I have TWO libraries. One I created for "match" and only about 23,000 songs in it. And my other main library that has 80k songs in it (but not signed into Match).
What happens if I turn ON match in the bigger library, and it hasn't "rolled out" to me yet?

Dec 12, 2015 5:29 AM in response to JungleNYCby Jimzgoldfinch,Hi,
LImit has definitely increased Subscribe to iTunes Match - Apple Support
Are the 23k tracks in your main library? If so, turning on match on your main library may result in duplicates being created. iTunes Match will scan your library but may not recognise that the music is already in the cloud.
Personally i would keep the match library and add the rest of your main library, small batches at time. However, the downside is that it doesn't copy ratings etc. I will take time and from experience some tracks may cause issues and stalls the match process - hence the reason for small batches at time.
I have around 54k tracks and the process was slow but I had few problems. Most of my library had been in the cloud at sometime - iCloud status was "removed". Few oddities - about a dozen tracks were classified as Apple Music - deleted then readded, were then matched or uploaded. Some previously matched tracks were uploaded - less than 100.

Dec 12, 2015 6:32 AM in response to Jimzgoldfinchby JungleNYC,Lol, well wish me luck!…I just turned on "icloud" in my iTunes account on the MAIN (bigger) library.
I had already brought in the "matched" songs to that library anyways, so…we'll see. I have everything backed up, so in the worst case it'll just be annoying. I hope.
There really should be a better "readout" on iTunes regarding your Match Status, etc, besides those little cloud icons. It took me forever to realize that I had to click that iCloud box to essentially turn Match on for that library.
It's still going on (whatever it's doing) and at first I had a little "status pie chart clock" thing that was filling up slowly. But now I have just the "animated round circle" so I have no ideas as to the PROGRESS.
I've really always struggled with iTunes and its visual feedback on the progress of the things it does. Burnin a CD is good. Everything else is a sliding scale of terrible.

My bad. If you click on that circle it gives you the progress. It just wasn't responding so well at first.
Weird that it starts out as a "pie chart clock" and then changes to the "circle that eats itself."

Dec 12, 2015 5:50 PM in response to JungleNYCby Don Ayer,Mine seems to have mostly worked itself out. No more errors and I've got 44K tracks available on all of my authorized devices. There are maybe 100 tracks showing the iCloud status as "error" that I'll have to delete and re-add to get them to sync properly. I tried it on a few and it worked fine.
I work in a lot of places and have Macs all over the dang place, so I'd really like to authorize 7 computers, but that's a whole different complaint.

Dec 12, 2015 8:12 PM in response to Henry Cline1by Henry Cline1,My update seems to be going all right, I agree I wish there was more info about what the status is of the update. I have lots of stuff that has not been updated.
A side note is that the amount of data going to my iphone is staggering, it busted my 15gig ATT plan and I had to update to a larger plan while the update rolls into it (I guess). Anyone know why that is? I mean all that is heading to the phone is db info??

Dec 13, 2015 4:57 AM in response to Henry Cline1by JungleNYC,I wish there was a Match or iCloud section to iTunes where you can easily, and clearly see what's going on.
YES this computer is subscribed to Match.
You have XXXX songs
XXXX of those songs have been matched
XXXX of those songs have errors
XXXX of those songs have been uploaded
CLICK HERE to download upgraded versions of those songs to your computer
etc.

Dec 13, 2015 6:27 AM in response to JungleNYCby Jimzgoldfinch,HI,
i suggest that you provide feedback to Apple http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
In the meantime, you can go to view > select show status bar. You will now see total number tracks in your library.
You can also make a number of smart playlists based on iCloud status = :
- Matched
- Error
- uploaded
- matched plus bit rate less than 256 to pick up tracks that can be upgraded.

Dec 19, 2015 2:43 PM in response to Henry Cline1by Henry Cline1,Another question I have about using match. If I make changes to my tags in itunes, are those changes reflected on the icloud without me doing anything or do I need to "update icloud music library"
Henry
