Q: MacBook Pro will not shut down since upgrading to El Capitan.

Hi,

I have downloaded El Capitan about 3 weeks ago and since then I am not able to shut down my laptop through the normal way. The only way I can shut down is by pressing the on/off button manually.

Any ideas how I can solve this??

sorry, normal way for me is to go to top menu, click on apple, then shutdown. Have been doing this ever since I've had my MacBook from new and never had any problem. Ever since I've upgraded it will not let me do that, or even do a restart or putting laptop to sleep.

Test by pressing CONTROL + OPTION + COMMAND + EJECT. Does the MBP shut down?
