Q: ipad no longer syncs to itunes on macbook

The iTunes app needed to sync with an ipad on 9.2 will not run on 10.6.8, it needs 10.8.5. My MacBook won't run 10.8.5 so inadvertently I have outmoded my MacBook with all my music, photos, films etc from syncing with my ipad, my children's ipads, etc etc. Apple didn't warn that this was an issue, in fact in the applestore states that the new ipad air will sync with iTunes on devices running 10.6.8. Well, I've been told officially by Apple support this is incorrect. Thanks Apple, you are trying to force me to upgrade my MacBook by the back door, a sneaky, underhand, outmoding exercise which people are rapidly waking up to, you should see the social media responses I've had so far!!
