Q: While extracting downloaded software to update/restore my iPod touch, iTunes loses connection and makes me start the extraction again. I have been doing this for several days. I have restarted several times, downloaded the update again, to no avail.

I have been going through this for several days. While downloading or extracting software for my iPod Touch (model A1421, 32 GB) on iTunes (12.3.2.35), it loses connection with the iPod, and so when finished it says it cannot find the iPod touch and therefore cannot perform the update/restore. I have disconnected, restarted iTunes, restarted my computer, etc., several times. Each time after I get iTunes to recognize the iPod touch again, it says it needs to be restored/updated and starts extracting the software again. Then the same problem is repeated. While extracting the software, which can take 30 minutes or more, iTunes again loses connection with the iPod touch, making me go through the whole process again. I am using iTunes on a 21.5 inch, 2.7 GHz, iMac with 4 GB memory running El Capitan (10.11.2)

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)
