If your watch has a hardware fault, it may be eligible for warranty service (subject to the usual warranty terms).
In order to help Apple Support determine whether your watch should be checked under warranty, it may be prudent to follow their recommended troubleshooting steps (which may include disabling and re-enabling both Wrist Detection and Passcode) and continuing with your support case.

Feb 12, 2016 8:40 AM in response to pgomez666by Jonathan UK,Hi - try these steps, checking after each:
- Restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both off together, then restart your iPhone first:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
- Force restart both devices (iPhone first, followed immediately by the watch):
- iPhone: press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
- Watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
- Next try unpairing and re-pairing your watch:
- The Watch app on your iPhone takes watch backups automatically, including a fresh one when unpairing via the app.
- Choose to restore your watch (Restore from Backup) when offered the option during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).
- Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support
- Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support
- If the issue then persists, contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch serviced under warranty:
- Restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both off together, then restart your iPhone first:
