Q: Performance Question: Final Cut Pro X with FileVault?
I've been googling for about the past half-hour but I haven't been able to find anything on the subject of Final Cut Pro X performance on a Mac that has FileVault encryption enabled. I'm in an organization that strongly prefers to encrypt computers and right now I can't find justification either way to either assure my user it'll be OK to run FCPX with FV or to tell my tech group that we need an exception. If anyone has experience with FCPX on an encrypted Mac I'd really appreciate hearing about it!
FFile Vault will significantly reduce read/write performance. But if your libraries, medua, and caches are on an unencrypted drive, it shouldn't effect you too much.
