Just checking, but on the iPhone, you are sure you have iOS 9.2 and that iMessage is activated? Under where you say you have iMessage on, do you see anything special under that? We have to get that Text Message forwarding to work before you can send an SMS via the iPad. Can you send an SMS to a non-iOS device with your phone?

Well, I cannot understand why it is that you do not see that forwarding. As asked earlier, can you send an SMS to a non-iOS device?

I can send an SMS message via iPhone to a non-IOS device. I had to do just that yesterday when I found I could not send the same text message via my iPad -> iPhone. Hence my post.

Well, there has to be a reason that you do not have the forwarding in the settings of your iPhone. What troubleshooting have you tried? User troubleshooting includes restart, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory. Test after each step. In one, you should get that ability back.

Tasilee, I had the same problem exactly as you described...to the letter...after installing 9.2.  Sorry, I can't remember exactly the steps but I eventually resolved the issue.  One of ChrisJ4203's posts helped.  I wish I could remember the exact sequence of events but at some point I was prompted to enter my Apple ID and password.  This caused the "Text Messaging Forwarding" thing to appear after the iMessage button (it had not been there before that).  Clicking on that should show your iPad device.  That was what unlocked the door to a few other things to click on and send ID's and Passwords to.  I never got a verification number to send in...eventually a message appeared saying my iPhone and iPad were linked together again as they had been before installing 9.2.   Be patient, some of the string of events took awhile to appear.  For what it is worth, I have a vague memory of a similar hassle during a previous iOS install.

    Best of luck
