Q: My Canon Pixma MP610 won't print in Yosemite
I have a problem getting my Canon to print and what is confusing me is that it shows up in 'Printers & Scanners" as Idle and I can interrogate it for Ink Levels etc in the normal way but when I try printing from Preview etc to it the "print options panel" shows a small black triangle at the "printer selection" toggle. If I try printing to it anyway and go to the printer dialogue box I get the message "Stopped -No pages found!, 1 page." Also, at the top of the dialogue box I see a message saying that I need to install software...."
I've tried Software Update and get no notification of new s/w. I've been to Canon w/site and it tells me I don't need anything as it's incl. already in Yosemite.
I downloaded and installed a "TwainBridge" fix from a 3rd-party site that reckoned that fixed a similar issue back in Mavericks but that hasn't fixed it.
Can anyone help me please?

Hi, thanks I've managed to get the printer working by using MP560 series driver - although at the cost of all ink levels info, etc - but at least I've got something out of it.
Great help Mr Davis - thank-you!
