Q: How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? Because of the update on apple ID, when I try to delete icloud account I have to put in the password, and it says username or password is invalid (because no longer apple ID).

Are you getting this message in the Apple ID screen or when you are initially signing in to the site the iTunes view account brings you to. You want to sign in with your new account and then go and edit your email address. If that's where you are and that happens after you click on "edit" and then change your Apple ID to your old Apple ID then I'm not sure. It didn't happen when I changed it. Please confirm the steps again as the person I spoke with at the apple tech support said that would fix it. However I know I have tried fixes for me that worked for other people but mine was different for some specific reason. It's annoying I know. I wish I could help you more. I worked with mine a couple of hours one night and then the next morning gave up and called. Run through the steps again and hopefully you missed something. I wish I could help you more. That's all I have.   I'm sorry.

thanks so much, I recently had this problem and your suggested fix worked for me.

This did not help me.  Icloud have my correct email but  where "contact information" shows it has my old email that is still causing an error.  I now am not receiving emails.

It doesn't matter if the old email is still valid or in use or not.

I Got to the step with signing out but it still tells me I'm locked out for security reasons I have reset my password. Still nothing... When I try my old email address it says not a valid email address.. Any suggestions?

I have tried to change my email on the applied site and while it allows me to change my address it will not allow me to change my email or take the state on my information for shipping.

Seach for 'Change in Primary email' on this site..  Read Wizzer1966 and follow the advice of Roger Wilmut1 just below that.  You can purchase things on iTunes and change your id when that is accomplished

Changing the phone...another problem.  Follow the advice of abbieswain.  Do not be hesitant about closing your iCloud...fearful you will lose everything.  You won't. These two people made my life worth living again....pitiful as it sounds.  All is working well again.  phew.

Was wrestling with changing my email on computer and iPhone 6+  This worked.  Changed computer (Windows 10) first, through iTunes, Account, then iPhone.  Not sure if it makes a difference which goes first, but you have to change on both.  Be sure to TURN OFF 'Find my phone' before you do anything.  That seems to be the key.  You can turn it on again when all is well.  You will know it is well when, under iCloud on phone, you see your new email under your name.  And if you can buy something on iTunes with the new email, your computer is fine, too.

Note...I did not change my password.
