Dec 16, 2015 2:03 PM in response to delliot7by SGIII,Actually iCloud is the ONLY option to sync Numbers across your devices. Though you can save documents in Dropbox or other services and access them from other devices, you won't have true sync.
Here's an Apple Support document (a little dated but still helpful) that better explains what you need to do.
It boils down to making sure all your devices (and computer) are signed into the same iCloud account and that Numbers iCloud sync is activated. Sometimes the first time it takes a little fiddling to get things going.
On the Mac visit System Preferences > iCloud on the Mac, make sure iCloud Drive is checked, and that Numbers.app is checked (click 'Options...' button)
In iOS devices go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive and make sure you have turned on Numbers sync there. In iOS you'll also want to visit Settings > Numbers and make sure 'Use iCloud' is turned on there.
Then try making changes to a test document, wait a few minutes, and to see if they appear on other devices and in Numbers for iCloud. If the changes aren't syncing, try logging out of iCloud and back in again on your Mac and iOS devices. Once you've got the sync going, it should "just work."
