Q: Windows 10 Drivers Problems

Hey Guys,

I have been using windows on my computer since I got it three years ago, but I stopped using it when windows 8 was released because I was not a huge fan.  I gave Windows 10 a shot because I thought it looked pretty neat.  I did everything proper, but the included drivers just don't work.  Only the basic stuff works (Broad-com, Intel, Speakers, all that stuff...), but everything else doesn't work (Keyboard, track pad, and all the sensors).  Has anyone else had any of these problems? Or any solutions?

Thanks Guys!

    1. Can you check for any unknown devices in Windows Device Manager?

    2. Did you run Apple Software Update and get BC 6 drivers package?

Yeah, the only one is the bluetooth host controller, all the other drivers seem to be working.  Yes, I did everything as normal, but it didnt work.

Can you post a screen shot of the Device Manager? Use Windows Snipping tool to get a screen shot.

Can you expand the HID (Human Interface Devices) and show the drivers that are currently installed?

I have a few problem with the driver with the latest windows 10 update on my Macbook Pro (2015) too. I cannot control the sound and light of my keyboard with F1, F2, etc... anymore.

I also noticed a bug with the storage information on the setting panel: as you can see the System & Reserved storage are a bit odd... 317GB...the total size of my bootcamp partition is 180GB and the size of the windows folder for the system is 12GB.

    Thanks!

W10 is pushing WHQL drivers to your Mac. I suggest you switch to manual Windows Updates instead of Automatic updates.

Your Windows side can see the underlying disk, and is using it to calculate these values.

    Thanks.

How can I fix that? Switching off automatic update will not resolve the problem... because if I install again everything (new windows partition) the latest version of windows 10 will be installed at the start of the process. Is there a way to install again the bootcamp driver?

About the bug of the storage information: my hard drive is nearly empty... I have a bit less than 180GB of data with Windows ands OSX combined...

    Cheers

I modify Windows Updates to manual, check every week. If W10 pushes any drivers, I read through the driver link and ensure that it will not impact any of the Apple/BC drivers, before I let it apply. On a Mac, typically, WHQL drivers are really not needed.

For you storage issue, if you want to verify this data, run the Disk Management snap-in and check the actual disk layout.

To re-install the BC6 drivers again, please download them to a USB flash drive using OSX BC Assistant. Run the setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder and repair your drivers.

Thanks a lot for this recommendation.

I had the same type of failure installing w10 on my macbookpro early2015 (for me it fails on audio Realtek)

Unfortunatley the problem remains and the install stays blocked on Realtek

Hello - having similar problems, so would like to join in this thread.

Recently upgraded to W10 (from W7) on my MBP Retina mid-2012 (running El Cap in OS X). Right away the touchpad wasn't working. When updating Boot Camp in Windows, the update fails (don't remember the exact msg - can try to recreate if needed). So I manually updated the Apple drivers. The touchpad works now, but I can see several other problems - 1. in device manager shows warning for couple of the devices including touchpad. 2. there's no audio control on the bottom right panel. 3. the wi-fi connection drops every few minutes. (I can go thru all the diagnostics in more detail if needed).

However, the core issue is to update Boot Camp which I'm hoping takes care of the issues I'm experiencing. Already plan to install W10 updates manually once problems are fixed.

Any thoughts/suggestions will be greatly appreciated

    Thanks
