Q: How can I tell what theme a photo book has used in photo

I want to make a new book using a theme I've used before but can't seem to figure out what has the same page options. The only way to get the smae thing is to duplicate the project and then undo all the photos. Is there a way to see what theme a current book has used? And which size? (all my books say "large hardcover" but that's not actually a choice when you select a book type).

Thanks!

    Howdy Paul,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

I see you're trying to find a way to locate the type of book you've created in iPhoto.  An easy way to do this is by first opening your project, and then click on "Change Theme" in the top right corner.  You will then be brought to the main theme selector, with your project's theme shown.

    Take care.

As an add-on to judysing's answer:

The book size is shown in the lower left corner of the Theme Chooser. The cute miniature books with "L" and "XL" written onto them.  The spotlight is highlighting the currently selected size. Another spotlight to the right is highlighting the selected page color backgrounds.

Duplicate the book like you already have done, before you click the Theme Chooser to see the currently selected theme. So your original book will stay safe.

Hey guys! Thanks for your helpful replies. Unfortunately, I'm using Photos now, which has proven to be less user-friendly than iPhoto. I tried your solution in Photos and the app selects the first theme on the list (clearly wrong) rather than identifying the current theme.

When I choose a look-alike theme (in this case modern), the formatting is very different (left justified rather than left, different layout choices).

Additionally, there is no L and XL as there used to be. Now they use actual sizes.

    Thanks!

Sorry, I could not tell from your original post, that you are asking abot Phots, since the question is in the iPhoto forum, The Photos for MAc forum is under MacOS X System Software, because Photos is part of MacOS X and not a separately installed application, see this link: Photos for Mac,

Which version of Photos are you using? When I click "Change Theme", the panel will come up with my current them selected.  Perhaps you need to update - see the screenshot, the Big text Theme is selected.

To see the size of your book, create a preview. If you open the Inspector on the preview, you can see the page size in the Info panel.  iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
