Q: iPhoto crashing when I work on a photo book

HI there.

I'm a bit desperate - I've been working on five different albums, collating pictures and then putting them together into a photo book. The first one has gone off and is en route to the recipient, but the remaining four are giving me grey hairs. When iPhoto has crashed in the past, all my albums have remained intact, and I've just had to restart iPhoto - but for the past few days, when it crashes, everything crashes too! So my albums, although they're there, are empty. I have created books from the album contents, and that seems to at least save the pics - but as you don't seem to be able to move them back out of the project into an album to re-sort or delete, it's not satisfactory at all. So, two questions: 1) why is iPhoto crashing so often suddenly, and 2) how can I move the photos from the completed project back into an album. They are all backed up and saved, but if you've moved several hundred pics into an album, you want to still have the album, and not just all the pics back in their chronological order in the mass of your library. Help please!

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

    - What version of iPhoto.

    - What version of the Operating System.

    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.

    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?

    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
