Q: chapter TITLES not showing in audiobook

My publisher submitted "GOODBYE STRESS - HELLO SUCCESS" my AudioBook with CHAPTER TITLES to Audible.

Audible submitted it to Amazon and iBooks. Now when the AudioBook is purchased, the TITLES of chapters are missing. Instead we see Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3 ...and so on ...

  • audible.com used m4b formatting .... Our iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone are all ios6 ... none of them show "Titles of Chapters" of the AudioBook bought from Apple or Amazon (both companies used audible.com)
  • However, our mp3 in-house version does show "Titles of Chapters" in all our devices

Question:

  • Do you know of any AudioBook that displays "Titles of Chapters" sold by Amazon or Apple?
  • How can we have audible.com and iTunes correct the issue (audible.com says it is up to iTunes)?

In this day and age listeners do expect to see the 'title of each chapter' (similar to podcasts). Please note that this self-help AudioBook is useless unless the listener can go back and forth to specific CHAPTER TITLES and practice the Exercises and the Techniques.

Please advise.

iOS 9.2 still doesn't show Audiobook chapter titles. At least we see audio book chapter entries, in iTunes we don't even see those, we see only file names.

I recently downloaded an audiobook, not from the app store, and after importing into iTunes it showed up with correct metadata and with chapter titles!

    Details here: http://tech.kateva.org/2015/12/itunes-audiobooks-something-actually.html.

So iTunes and iOS are capable of showing titles -- under certain conditions. These files came from 'The Great Books'/The Teaching Company. I don't know if they have any DRM, I suspect they don't.

I wonder if the problem is something to do with DRM (Audible DRM?) or old metadata that Apple stopped supporting. It appears that it *should* still work, the code is there.
