Q: Iwatch Apple pay

iI've tried using Apple Pay on my iwatch yet the card reader doesn't seem to recognise my watch although my phone works.

IS there a way to test the nfc on my watch as only 2 out of three payments have worked so far all at morrisons.

Apple Watch, watchOS 2.1

    Hi

Whilst I appreciate that you have made payments successfully before, it is possible that your watch was not presented correctly to the terminal on the other occasion. If your payment details cannot be read by the terminal, it will result in a card not available error message.

To use Apple Pay on your watch, quickly double-press the side button. Your default card will be displayed. If you have added other cards and wish to use one of them instead, swipe to switch between cards.

With your preferred card displayed, hold your watch up to the terminal:

    - The watch face should be facing and parallel with the terminal's own screen (you should not be able to see the watch face whilst paying), aligned centrally with the contactless logo on the terminal screen and held closer than 10cm.

    - It should be held in that position for up to a few seconds, until you hear the confirmation beep and haptic pulse.

    Thanks for the reply.

So have I got to be a lot more precise with the position of the watch Compared to when I use the phone.

with the phone you can just place it near the card reader Is there an area on the reader where I should position the face of my watch?

Sorry If my questions sound a little silly.

Unless the reader indicates otherwise, try holding it towards the centre area of the reader's display (where it may, for example, show a contactless logo).

Whilst some merchants have higher limits (eg Apple Retail Stores), Morrisons presently has a £30 maximum limit on Apple Pay payments (I have just confirmed this).

finally a full day of using apple pay on my watch with no problems.

What I've noticed is that when the terminal shows the wireless sign on the screen, place the watch directly over that instead of just in the centre of the screen.

This has worked in Morrisons on a few occasions and McDonald's which I paid for our meals separately so I could use the watch on different terminals just to make sure id sorted it.

hope this helps other and thanks for your help.

    You're most welcome!

That is the correct method, as previously described:
